New LASIK Technology in San Antonio, TX

LASIK has long been regarded as one of the safest, most reliable ways to correct myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism. However, the latest LASIK technology offers a premier, improved LASIK experience, and our own [Gregory Parkhurst, M.D., F.A.C.S.], is a leader in the field of advanced all-laser LASIK surgery.

At Parkhurst NuVision, you’ll find the most state-of-the-art LASIK technology, hotel-style facilities, and an experienced team who use our array of technology to its full effect for a completely customized LASIK experience.

The Latest, Most Advanced LASIK Technology

The original LASIK involves using small blade to create a small flap in the cornea before an excimer laser reshapes the tissue underneath. This is perfectly safe and effective — FDA Approved and trusted for many years — but the latest LASIK technology has improved on this high standard! “All-laser” LASIK carries a lower risk of complications, provides sharper vision, and is viable for more patients than ever.

We’re proud to use the all-laser ALLEGRETTO wavefront-optimized LASIK with IntraLASE® technology. This new LASIK technology’s wavefront analysis allows us to map the unique features of your eye to carefully plan and execute your personalized procedure. It also uses both a femtosecond laser for flap creation and excimer laser for cornea adjustment for complete control and ultra-precise results.

The Benefits of Parkhurst NuVision’s LASIK Technology

Types of LASIK

Z-LASIK is a blanket term used to describe all-laser LASIK that uses the best-in-class femtosecond lasers made by either ZEISS or Ziemer. These allow for precise flap creation and, as a result, faster recoveries. Our own Dr. Parkhurst is highly experienced in these and other femtosecond lasers, is certified to teach other surgeons how to use them, and has even written several textbook chapters on them.

Custom LASIK, also known as wavefront-guided LASIK, is the latest LASIK technology on the market, and one we’re proud to use. A wavelight laser uses wavefront analysis to not only map the eye to a highly detailed degree but follow that map during the procedure for a customized, guided, and optimized procedure that can be adjusted in real time as necessary.

Because Z-LASIK describes our advanced femtosecond laser technology, and custom LASIK describes our wavefront mapping and excimer laser systems, we can proudly say that we offer Custom Z-LASIK, the most precise LASIK procedure on the market today!
