Eyelid Surgery

Blepharoplasty

Upper eyelid blepharoplasty is a surgery to remove excess skin, or dermatochalasis. This surgery is performed for both functional and cosmetic reasons. When excess eyelid skin hangs over the eyelashes and blocks the superior visual field, it is considered a functional surgery, and is covered by most insurance carriers.

"I cannot even begin to express how much this experience has changed my life. It has completely changed my life and I am so grateful."

Excess eyelid skin can also give the upper face a tired, aged appearance. Cosmetic upper eyelid blepharoplasty can be performed to provide a more refreshed, youthful appearance. This procedure is completed in an outpatient setting under light to moderate sedation, and can be performed in conjunction with other eyelid procedures when needed.

Lower Lid Blepharoplasty

Lower eyelid blepharoplasty is a surgery to remove lower eyelid “bags.” Lower eyelid bags occur as tissue planes in the lower eyelid relax, and fat that is normally behind the eye moves forward and becomes more noticeable. This can result in a tired, aged appearance.

Brow Lift

Brow lifting is a surgery to raise a low eyebrow. Low eyebrows can exert weight the eyelid and exacerbate ptosis (low eyelids) and dermatochalasis (excess eyelid skin). This surgery is performed for both functional and cosmetic reasons. When the eyebrow drops down to the point that it is blocking the superior visual field, it is considered a functional surgery and is covered by some insurance carriers.

Ptosis Repair

Upper eyelid ptosis repair is a surgery to lift the eyelid and raise its position relative to the eye. This surgery is performed for both functional and cosmetic reasons. When the eyelid drops down close to the pupil, it can block the superior visual field. When this happens, it is considered a functional surgery, and is covered by most insurance carriers.
