At Parkhurst NuVision, we are here for one reason: for you to see your best with minimal or no need for prescription eyewear. We believe the best corrective eyewear is no eyewear at all. It all begins with a firm commitment to the patient. Through adherence to the highest standards of quality and our dedication to patient satisfaction, we provide state-of-the-art technology and a world-class surgeon in a warm and comfortable atmosphere.
We are committed to offering you the latest technology to achieve your best visual outcome whether we recommend LASIK, Visian ICL, PRK or one of a variety of implantable lenses available. Our first priority is to educate, inform and recommend a procedure that is appropriate for your needs and meets your expectations.
We believe that patient education is one of the most important steps in deciding whether a vision correction procedure is the right choice for you. At Parkhurst-NuVision, patients have Advanced Vision Correction Choices to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. For this reason, we offer complimentary consultations to determine if you are a good candidate and also to familiarize you with our state-of-the-art clinic, and world-class, Board Certified physicians.
At Parkhurst-NuVision, you get vision correction techniques that far exceed traditional LASIK. Our commitment to our patients is to provide choices that fit your unique vision needs, active lifestyles, and after-surgery outcome expectations. Procedures such as the Visian ICL, Advanced Surface Ablation (PRK), AcrySoft Toric IOL, ReSTOR® Multifocal Implant, Staar Toric IOL and the Crystalens® Accommodating Lens Implant are just some of the vision correction procedures we offer that can change your life and improve your natural vision. Our friendly professional surgical coordinators are here to assist you in your quest for better vision and will be able to answer questions you may have before, during, and after your procedure. You can reach our coordinators at 210-615-9358 or fill out our web form for more information today.
At Parkhurst-NuVision, you get a new level of patient service. We don’t just treat eyes, we treat your vision needs, which is the commitment we’ve made to you, built into everything we do! From the moment you walk in the center, you will realize how important you are. Starting with the first smile and pleasant greeting you receive, to the thorough and caring consultation regarding advanced vision correction choices, benefits, and alternatives, you will notice this is not a typical doctor’s office.
Not only has our surgeon earned world-class credentials, but Parkhurst-NuVision has equipped the facilities with the finest, highly-trained staff, and latest technology available. These are just more ways of showing how committed we are to your best vision outcomes. We recognize that vision is a precious gift, and we consider it a tremendous honor that so many patients in San Antonio trust us with their eyes.
Your Safety is Our #1 Priority
Along with conservative patient selection, disposable instruments are used whenever possible and extensive sterilizing procedures are conducted for each and every patient. A special air filtration system is used in our laser room which even has a special ultraviolet germ-killing capability. Temperature and humidity are both constantly controlled 24 hours a day, 365 days per year for more accurate laser treatment. Highly skilled engineers regularly service the laser and test its accuracy and safety.
Parkhurst NuVision has access to several lasers including the Intralase, Allegretto Wave, and more. The Allegretto Wave represents the latest generation of excimer lasers. Operating at an unsurpassed speed of 400 pulses per second (twice the speed of the next competing laser) with a laser beam pulse diameter of less than 1 millimeter and a Gaussian beam profile, this tiny Gaussian beam allows for a much smoother treatment bed – resulting in crisper, sharper vision. With PerfectPulse Technology the Allegretto’s eye-tracking system completely controls every laser pulse as it is applied to the eye – it checks the position of the eye 400 times per second and automatically adjusts all internal mirrors to place the next pulse in the right location.
Intralase, often referred to as All-Laser LASIK, the Intralase® laser offers patients a computer-controlled alternative to a steel surgical blade (microkeratome) for creating the corneal flap in LASIK.
