Cobra Kai star gets EVO ICL

Category: EVO ICL

Peyton List gets EVO ICL

In December 2022, actress and beauty entrepreneur Peyton List had EVO ICL lenses implanted. EVO is an FDA-approved vision correction lens designed for the correction of myopia with or without astigmatism. Peyton joins other celebrities like Joe Jonas that chose EVO ICLs as a permanent solution to their vision problems.

“I’ve had problems with my vision longer than I haven’t. The worst is being in the middle of a day and feeling a contact lens rip and spending the rest of the day with one blurry eye,” said List, most recently known for her role in the Netflix series, “Cobra Kai.” “After learning about vision correction options from my doctor, EVO was the most appealing because there is minimal down time, it does not cause dry eye syndrome and if I ever wanted to, the lenses are removable by my doctor for my added peace of mind.”

“Peyton List longed for a day when she no longer struggled with her vision problems and all the daily frustrations with contact lenses and eyeglasses on and off the set. With her new EVO lenses implanted, she is amazed at how seamless the procedure was for her and how wonderful daily life has become,” said Tom Frinzi, president and CEO of STAAR Surgical, the company that manufactures the lenses.

What is EVO ICL?

EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) is a revolutionary procedure that works together with your natural eyes to correct and improve your vision. This procedure, also known as an implantable contact lens, permanently implants an artificial lens in the eye. ICL procedures can solve a myriad of vision problems, including astigmatism, and myopia (nearsightedness). While the surgery may not correct every vision problem there is, it has eliminated the need to wear contact lenses and eyeglasses for thousands of people around the world.

Am I a Candidate for EVO ICL?

If you have been thinking of vision correction & have been told your prescription is too high for a procedure like LASIK, you may want to ask your eye doctor about the EVO ICL procedure. EVO ICL lenses help correct vision problems such as nearsightedness and astigmatism. Your eye doctor will perform a series of specialized images to help determine the health of your eye in addition to the ‘anterior chamber depth’. The anterior chamber depth allows your doctor to know if there is adequate space for the EVO ICL lens.

EVO ICL in San Antonio

Parkhurst NuVision in San Antonio was the first practice in the US to implant the EVO ICL post FDA approval. Dr. Gregory Parkhurst and his team of doctors opted for a fun “Race for EVO” to get the lenses for our patients and implant them the same day.

Be sure to talk to one of our doctors about not only the benefits of vision correction, but also any risks of vision correction that may pertain to your individual needs and circumstances.
