Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Dr. Nguyen’s passion for eye care began when he had the opportunity to observe his mother’s refractive surgery. Since then, he worked in multiple optometry clinics in Houston throughout his schooling. During this time, he attended the High School for Performing and Visual Arts where he studied performance in jazz and classical saxophone. He was also part of the Bellaire High School golf team and occasionally took part in amateur tournaments.

Dr. Nguyen received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and a minor in General Business from the University of Saint Thomas in Houston, TX. He went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, TX.
He was an American Academy of Optometry (AAO) student fellow, and a member of numerous academic clubs such as Sports Vision Association (SVA),Student Volunteers in Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH), Private Practice Club (PPC).
Clinical Rotations & Experience
Dr. Nguyen’s clinical rotations included Lifetime Eyecare in Houston, TX. Here, he acquired skills in fitting specialty contact lenses and managing ocular diseases. He then rotated through Eye Center of Texas, working directly with ophthalmology in peri-operative care and managing ocular diseases.
Personal
When not at work, Dr. Nguyen enjoys playing golf, basketball, biking and rock climbing. He is also an avid movie watcher and loves traveling with his family and fiancé. Some travel destinations that have been crossed off his list are Hawaii, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Australia, and Egypt.
