After excelling academically, Dr. Szynkarski earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University, graduating cum laude. With a thirst for knowledge and a commitment to making a difference in healthcare, Dr. Szynkarski pursued a medical career, obtaining both an MD with honors from Texas A&M College of Medicine and an MBA from Texas A&M Mays School of Business.
He was the first person ever born to a liver transplant patient and this had a big impact on his decision to pursue medicine because “without the work of my mother’s doctors, I would not be here today.”
During medical school, Dr. Szynkarski was recognized for exceptional academic achievement and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, a testament to his commitment to excellence in medicine. Additionally, Dr. Szynkarski actively participated in mission trips organized by the Christian Medical Association, where he discovered a particular passion for ophthalmology and vision correction.
Following medical school, Dr. Szynkarski completed an Internal Medicine internship at Baylor College of Medicine, further expanding his clinical expertise. Eager to specialize in ophthalmology, Dr. Szynkarski pursued a residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch, honing his skills in diagnosing and treating various eye conditions.
With a remarkable combination of expertise, compassion, and commitment to excellence, Dr. David Szynkarski continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of his patients. He is driven by the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the world with crystal-clear vision, and he works tirelessly to bring this vision to reality for his patients.
Personal
Dr. Synkarski enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, traveling, basketball, classic cars, and fitness. He loves nature and his goal to visit each one of America’s national parks and to motorcycle the Great Ocean Road in Australia.
