Dr. Groenhuyzen, a Texas native, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition Science with a minor in Business from Texas A&M University. Prior to optometry school, she worked in a multi-disciplinary ophthalmology practice in Austin, TX, building a foundation in knowledge and passion for the profession. She then went on to graduate summa cum laude as a Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. Groenhuyzen’s clinical rotations included Lakeline Vision in Cedar Park, TX, where she attained skills in dry eye treatment and primary eye care, and the Indian Health Service in Albuquerque, NM, where she became proficient in managing a wide variety of ocular disease including cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.

In her free time, Dr. Groenhuyzen enjoys all things sports and outdoors. When she is not watching her Aggies, she is likely playing soccer, weightlifting, or spending time with her family along the coast of south Texas.
