Laser or chemical peels are designed to treat fine lines and wrinkles of the face, as well as small discolorations. Laser peels are more powerful than chemical peels, and give a deeper treatment with longer lasting results. For this reason, laser peels also have a longer recovery time (2-3 weeks) than chemical peels (1-2 weeks). Peels can be completed across the entire face and neck, or just around the eyes. These treatments give a more refreshed, youthful appearance to the treatment area.

Augie, N.The skin in the treated area will slough in the first week, equivalent to a bad sunburn. The newly regenerated skin should be protected from UV light for a minimum of 3-6 months. Peels are completed in an outpatient setting under mild to moderate sedation, and are often performed in conjunction with other eyelid procedures.
